Migrate from PARA to Second Brain
Migrating Notion pages
Last updated on
June 12, 2024
Key Steps
- Scroll down to the PARA template and locate the toggle named "migration" to find all databases that need to be migrated.
- Open the Second Brain template and go to the migration page.
- Return to the PARA template and drag the migration toggle into the migration page in the Second Brain template.
- Click on "visit" to open the page. Before moving pages for each database, ensure that property names match in both templates.
- If property names do not match, make necessary adjustments to ensure consistency.
Cautionary Notes
- Ensure property names match in both templates to prevent data loss or misalignment.
- Double-check the migration process to avoid moving incorrect data or missing pages.
Tips for Efficiency
- If there are not many resources in the PARA template, move over the Resources Database pages at once and assign topics manually afterwards.
- For a large number of pages in the Resource Database, move pages over topic by topic.
- Use filters to narrow down results in the old resource database by topic before moving pages.
- Add corresponding topics in the Second Brain template and apply topic filters to efficiently organise and migrate pages.
